West County – October 2021

Repainted baseboards in the hallway, master bedroom and bath, living room and family room then repainted the walls in those rooms. We also took down wallpaper in a bedroom but did no further work there due to some mold/wall issues. We also removed some wallpaper in a dining room that we also did no further work in due to some wall issues that were to be addressed. There were also two bathroom vanities that were painted.

Kirkwood – October 2021

Customer had us come in and do a baseboard and wall repaint of the vast majority of this Kirkwood home. Most was a fairly matched wall color except for the accents, white in kitchen and orange in a secondary bedroom. The ceiling in the basement ‘office’ was also painted. In total this included the master bed, master bath, secondary bedroom, upper hall, hall bath, main living area, kitchen, office and basement family room. There were also a few areas of trim painted white and some white trim painted a darker color.

High Ridge – September 2021

During the craziness leading up to the holidays some of these projects are being posted months later now that we have time to take a breath. First up is this project completed at a two story residential home in the Paradise Valley golf course. This project included two separate two story areas – the foyer and living room, 12 foot ceilings in the dining room, a vaulted ceiling in the front room and a split vault in the foyer. We also painted the kitchen, upper loft office area and the lower hallway area doing the base, walls and ceiling and then painted out the kitchen cabinets to close out the project.

South County – August 2021

Repainted a small set of kitchen cabinets for this south county condo owner. Originals were the typical oak color and were painted right in the small condo kitchen because our setup and painting area is very compact and can be done in a relatively small area. In this case there was work being done in the basement, someone doing painting in other rooms and no garage to use. No problem. 🙂

Fenton – July 2021

This is one of two projects we currently have on the calendar at our neighbor up the road Joyce Meyer Ministries. This first project was squeezed in as the new doors needed to be painted quickly and since they are within eyesight of my house it was pretty easy to work them around my normal day and get this one done quickly. There is a second project for later fall which entails painting four stairwells which are in the main tower and three stories total on each one along with the interior doors and hand rails.

In this case we did several doors that had existing paint on them and several brand new doors which were just installed along with awnings over two of the main entry/exits. Because we wanted the ultimate in durability we used Emerald Urethane which is normally a trim/cabinet type paint it also works great on exteriors and Sherwin’s top residential paint line. The color used is Tricorn Black a standard Sherwin color. Since these pictures were taken on the final coat day it is still curing yet can be touched and handled without much if any worry.

South County – July 2021

Wallpaper removal is always a fun project. From the different types of paper and backing, types of glues and adhesives used and of course the biggest unknown of all – what’s underneath the paper?

Well.. first question was answered real fast when we determined the top layer of paper was my favorite.. thicker top sheet and light brown paper backing. This stuff allows the top sheet to be pulled down easily then the wall gets a soaking and the backing scraped off.

But as the paper came off the wall we found multiple surprises from some drywall repairs that were half finished as they apparently planned on covering with paper. Skimmed and smoothed those out. Found one wall that had never been painted before but was sealed.. one wall that was partially textured before someone gave up and covered it and two walls with a second layer of paper that had been sealed over and papered over again. Even the white walls in the room that were only pained showed seam lines meaning even those walls had painted over paper. This is why we warn customers.. you have no idea what you might be getting into doing a paper removal and what to do when various issues happen and both the best and best cost aspects of what can be done.

All came out well in the end, Promar 200 Low Sheen Eg-Shel in Alabaster is the color used. Only baseboards and walls painted and the entire wall surface also got a solid acrylic sealer once the paper was down and before painting.

And yes the walls were still drying as these photos were taken. The color used on the walls was Sherwin’s Alabaster in Promar 200.
