Chesterfield – March 2018

There is nothing better than a customer who really wants to go bold. Just a few weeks ago this customer had us paint his condo to get it prepared for sale. https://paintsaintlouis.com/portfolio/chesterfield-february-2018/

For this round we came to his new home and did the top side walls of the dining room (wainscot below was not painted), the entry foyer and the family room and then since time permitted added in the living room. The entire front of the house was done in the same color as was the inner hall. The living room however went bold. Since the walls were wainscot top and bottom with a chair rail in the middle customer went white on the crown, chair rail and base/door frames, a medium deep blue and a dark blue on the trim piece itself.

These are complicated  time consuming jobs and can be much more expensive than a normal room but as you can see – it’s worth it.

Chesterfield – February 2018

These are the before pictures of a condo in Chesterfield – for this job one ceiling had to be painted due to water stains so it was sealed and painted. The rest of the work was baseboards, door trim (but not frames/doors) and the walls. The color was the very common Accessible Beige from Sherwin in SuperPaint flat and the ceiling was Brod-Dugan Suburban ceiling paint

These are the after pictures:

Fenton – February 2018

This was a trim only job – original wood was a medium-dark brown (same color as the stair rail) and customer wanted it white. One coat of bonding primer, three to four coats of white across the board. We did caulk a portion of the trim but none along the ceiling line that the customer will take care of later. There is also some green tape left on walls in the living room where the customer was painting some book cases.

This was an expensive job because the customer painted all their walls before choosing to paint the woodwork. I can’t stress enough how much easier it is to do before painting is done and how much better the work will look. When it is done after the fact it takes a monumental effort to protect the wall cut edges, the walls themselves and everything else when you have to apply this many coats and do it in a set time frame to guarantee proper adhesion.
